Thread starter wazer Start date Aug 22, However i came across this thread on reddit about using VLC to capture your main screen, in my case my hz monitor and then do a playback on the capture card screen.

So I started to look at OBS preview mode it self and it turns out it really works great if you do this setup. Now you might think, why does he not use an external splitter instead of all this mess. Well for once I'm using hz monitor and my capture card only allow 60hz input I'm not going to sacrifice my hz gaming monitor for 60hz.

I actually bought an gefen active dvi splitter but it turns out you cannot have same resolution and different hz when using splitters, at least what i know of? Beardedbob Member. Hi, I've not had any issue with lag on the stream when using a mhz monitor but a 60mhz capture card in a 2nd pc with OBS running. The OBS Preview is laggy but always has been for me, when watching the live stream its fine though.

When in doubt, use the cable your monitor came with. It should work—in theory. Instead, the screen would occasionally flicker and the refresh rate would drop down to 60Hz until we rebooted the computer. We replaced the cable with a higher-quality Accell DisplayPort cable and the monitor operated fine at Hz without any flickering or refresh rate drops. A loose cable connection could cause problems.

Thread starter Profenix Start date May 20, Profenix New Member. Hi, in windows I have the native resolution of my monitor that is x cloned to my captor elgato hd60s, so far everything is correct, but when I enter a game, this only leaves me at a maximum resolution of xbut if I disable the capture and cloning of my screen, if I can see windows and my games at x Why does this happen? As i use display port to the graphics card and the capture card is HDMI, im thinking this is the issue.

Profenix: What's the highest resolution the Elgato supports? If you try to go higher then that then it won't work.

DisplayPort vs. HDMI: Which Is Better For Gaming?

Right eldest hd60s supports up to p resolution, which is what you should pick up on your hdmi cable signal and also record. But I through my monitor connected by displayport should continue to see the games at p as it happens with windows. But I do not understand why windows if it goes to the resolution of p and in games to p, should everything go to p if it is like you say, right?
